A brilliant multi-generational family holiday in Majorca
We stayed at Zafiro Palmanova as a multi-generational family group, travelling with grandparents, parents and children aged from 16 months up to 9 years old. It worked brilliantly for all of us, offering space, flexibility and plenty to keep both adults and children happy.
Family-Friendly Accommodation
One of the things we loved most about this hotel was the room layout. The family rooms are spacious and well designed, with a separate bedroom for parents and a comfortable sofa bed for the children. This made a huge difference when travelling with little ones, giving everyone their own space to relax.
All rooms come with a kitchenette, which is ideal if you are staying self-catering or just want the option to prepare snacks. The large balconies, plenty of wardrobe space and room to store suitcases made settling in very easy.
We would definitely recommend booking a pool view room. Without this, you could end up overlooking the car park or main road. We have stayed in standard pool view rooms and always found them perfect, although there are also swim-up rooms and penthouses with private jacuzzis for those wanting something extra.
Location and Getting There
The hotel is in a great location, just a five minute stroll to the beach, with lots of restaurants and places to eat nearby. It is also a short walk to the Katmandu area if you fancy a day out with the kids.
The transfer from the airport is short, which is a real bonus when travelling with young children. We booked a private transfer, which made arrival even smoother.
What the Kids Loved
Zafiro Palmanova really shines when it comes to keeping children entertained. The small water slides are perfect for younger children, while the large blue bouncy ball in the pool is fun for all ages. At the back of the hotel there is a park and bouncy castle, which was a big hit with our group.
One feature we all loved was the small soft play area next to the restaurant. Once the children had finished eating, they could go off and play while the adults finished their meals, all while still being able to see them.
The kids also joined in with the daytime kids club activities and loved collecting stamps throughout the week for the end-of-holiday presentation. Mini disco takes place outside with Izzy the Zafiro mascot and is always lively and well organised.

Pools and Outdoor Areas
There are three pools to choose from, each offering something different.
The shallow pool with slides is ideal for little ones and is lovely and warm in the afternoon. Sunbeds here go quickly, so it is worth being early if you want a spot nearby.
The large main pool is shallow enough to walk across and allows inflatables, balls and games. This is where the big bouncy balls are used and where you will find the pool bar with seats in the water. It is surrounded by sunbeds, with some four-poster beds to one side.
There is also a smaller, quieter and deeper pool with a jacuzzi feature, also surrounded by four-poster beds. We tended to use this one when the girls wanted to practise swimming, although we usually preferred being near the main pool where the activities were.
Dining and All Inclusive Experience
We stayed on an all inclusive basis and were very happy with the food and drink options. All meals are served buffet-style in the main restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
At lunchtime, there is also an outdoor dining area with a menu that you can use without booking. This worked perfectly for our group, as some preferred ordering from the menu while others visited the buffet and brought their food outside.
There is an à la carte option in the evening, but this needs to be booked in advance and can only be used once per seven night stay.
Drinks were excellent, with wines available by the glass or bottle from the wine menu. The cocktail list is not huge but offers something for everyone, and the kids loved having their own mocktail menu.

Entertainment for All Ages
Evenings were well thought out for families. The layout means you can easily see the evening shows, while there are extra children’s activities indoors to keep little ones entertained during performances.
The adults particularly enjoyed the nightly quiz, which is played on your mobile phone. It made it easy for everyone to join in together as a group. You can order drinks at the inside bar, but there are also waiters taking orders during the shows, so you never miss a thing.
Our Daily Routine
Most mornings started with breakfast followed by a walk along the promenade to the beach and on to the children’s splash area at the end. After some beach time, we usually headed back to the hotel for lunch before the kids spent the afternoon in the pool.
One of the highlights was when the floating mat came out in the pool. The kids loved seeing how they could make it to the end, and I even managed it myself to a huge cheer from everyone.
We also spent plenty of time sitting at the pool bar in the water. The kids felt very grown up ordering milkshakes while perched on the bar stools.
Overall Impression
Zafiro Palmanova is easy to get around, not too big and never felt crowded. We never experienced queues at the lifts, even at busy times like dinner.
The staff were consistently helpful and friendly throughout our stay, which really added to the overall experience.
This hotel works exceptionally well for families travelling together across different generations. With great facilities, a fantastic location and thoughtful touches for both kids and adults, it is a hotel we would happily return to.
