One of the best parts of being an independent travel agent is helping people plan their dream holidays. But my role isn’t just about creating those picture-perfect trips, it’s also about being there when the unexpected happens. And in travel, the unexpected is always just around the corner.

Take one of my regular clients, for example. She came to me in a panic after hearing that severe flooding at her destination had delayed the reopening of her hotel. What should have been a relaxing countdown to her holiday suddenly became stressful. The hotel pushed its reopening date back from June to August, meaning she urgently needed somewhere new to stay before everything else got snapped up.

After confirming she wanted to keep the same flights and airport, I got to work. Over the next two days, I searched tirelessly for the right solution – something budget-friendly, stress-free, and still special. Eventually, I secured a 4-star suite for just £100 more than her original 3-star standard room. Not only did she still get her holiday, but she ended up with an even better experience.

Later, she told me she had seen other holidaymakers (those who booked online without an agent) struggling to fix their plans and facing huge stress. Hearing that made me proud. I knew I had taken that weight off her shoulders and turned a potential disaster into a holiday she truly enjoyed.

This is what booking with a travel agent is all about. We don’t just sell holidays, we care about them as much as you do. When things don’t go to plan, you’ll have someone in your corner ready to sort it out quickly and with your best interests at heart. But don’t just take it from me…

If you’d like the peace of mind that comes with booking through someone who has your back, I’d love to help. Call me on 01305 600103 or drop me an email, and let’s start planning your next adventure.
